Pitt Resources

Career Development and Placement Assistance Office (CDPA)

The Office of Career Development & Placement Assistance at the University of Pittsburgh provides excellent services and resources to students “from start to finish” during their career journey.  CDPA will begin working with Pitt students during their first year and continue to provide individualized assistance throughout the job or graduate school search process, all while helping PITT students to better understand their own skills, passions and values.

Counseling Center

This center is open to all students and dedicated to providing confidential support to students through a wide range of services such as personal counseling, group counseling, ADHD/ADD services, crisis intervention, sexual assault services and educational workshops.

University Honors College (UHC)

The University Honors College (UHC) was established to meet the special academic and co-curricular needs of capable and motivated undergraduate students. UHC community activities are open to students throughout the campus through four basic emphases: formal course work, supplemental advising, academic community and the option to pursue a unique baccalaureate degree.

Disability Resources and Services (DRS)

DRS offers resources for students with documented disabilities to work with a disability specialist to maximize academic performance, provides campus shuttles and a variety of assistive technology.

Student Payment Center
Thackeray Hall, 412-624-7520
Pitt students are able to access the Student Payment Center website to view their financial account, make payments to their account, review housing and meal plans, etc. This office also has resources on understanding and repaying financial aid, understanding your credit score and credit report and one-on-one financial counseling.

Academic Success Workshops

The Office of First Year Students hosts study skills workshops and tutoring in a great environment that includes study space. Highly trained peer tutors are available to all undergraduates irrespective of school. A team of professional Retention Specialists are also available to assist students with academic development and help to guide you toward academic success.

Math Assistance Center (MAC)
3rd Floor, Thackeray Hall, 412-624-4179
The MAC offers math tutoring services on levels ranging from introductory courses through the first-level scientific and business calculus courses. Students may visit during regular office hours for assistance for low-level courses, or make an appointment for assistance with more difficult course material and one-on-one consultation.

Writing Center

Staffed by experienced consultants trained in helping others with their writing, the Writing Center provides free services to students, faculty, and staff at the University of Pittsburgh. Writing Center staff work one-on-one by appointment, host a regular workshop called the Writers’ Cafe for undergraduates interested in creative writing, and provide peer tutoring.
