As a provider of low-cost services, we make every effort to accommodate clients’ financial needs and utilize a sliding fee scale, based on family income. See attached file for our current sliding fee scale. Students at the University of Pittsburgh may also wish to contact the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center, where they may be eligible for more immediate, free student counseling services (for more information, click here for the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center Website).
The content of counseling sessions is private and never divulged beyond the clinic, except in extremely rare circumstances such as emergencies defined by state and federal law (which include situations of immediate danger to clients or others, or when information related to child or elder abuse is disclosed to a counselor). Current COVID Policies
The Clinical Psychology Center is now open for in-person services, including cognitive assessments and treatment services. In accordance with current University of Pittsburgh guidelines, clients are required to be masked when they enter the building, and to remain masked throughout the duration of their assessment or treatment services in the clinic.
To protect the health of oneself and others, we ask that individuals who are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or who have had a recent exposure to COVID-19 not enter the clinic. In these situations, we ask that clients reschedule their appointment or ask to conduct their appointment via telehealth, if possible. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include (but are not limited to) fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, muscle/body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea.
As part of our ongoing safety efforts, the Clinical Psychology Center staff clean high-touch surfaces after each appointment, and the clinic can offer some telehealth services. However, all CPC clients must reside in the local Pittsburgh area, and must be willing to engage in some level of in-person care.
